Prof. Sizwe Lindelo Snail ka Mtuze is a highly respected voice in the fields of cyber law, digital rights, and information governance across Africa. With a legal career spanning over two decades, he has made significant contributions to policy and regulatory development in South Africa and beyond.

He currently serves as a Member of the South African Information Regulator and the Films and Publication Appeal Board—roles that place him at the heart of digital rights enforcement and media regulation in the country. His expertise also extends to the continental level, where he serves as the International Coordinator for the African Centre for Cyberlaw and Crime Prevention (ACCP) in Uganda, promoting legal harmonization and cyber resilience across Africa.

Prof. Mtuze has held influential advisory roles in the South African government, including Chairing the E-commerce Committee of the ICT Review Panel and serving on the National Cyber Security Advisory Council. His blend of technical insight and legal acumen makes him a trusted advisor in shaping Africa’s digital future.

He holds an LLB from the University of Pretoria, an LLM from UNISA, and is currently completing his Doctor of Laws (LLD) at the University of Fort Hare. He is also an Adjunct Professor at the Nelson Mandela University’s Faculty of Law, where he mentors the next generation of legal and policy minds.
